I have studied the death penalty for many times Always I use to have concluded that the death penalty is wrong because it lowers us all; it is a surrender to the worst that is in us; it uses a power  - the official power to kill by execution  - that has never elevated a society, never brought back a life, never inspired anything but hate. And it has killed many innocent people.
I understand that. I have felt the anger myself, more than once. Like too many other citizens, I know what it is to be violated and even to have one's closest family violated through despicable criminal behaviour. Even today, I tremble at the thought of how I might react to a killer who took the life of someone in my own family. It came down to "an eye for an eye, tooth for a tooth."If we adopted this maxim, where would it end? "You kill my son; I kill yours." "You rape my daughter; I rape yours." "You mutilate my body; I mutilate yours."The execution of death sentence in India is carried out by two modes, namely hanging by the neck till death and being shot to death.
Hanging-
This has been adopted by the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973. Section 354(5) of the above procedure reads as:"When any person is sentenced to death, the sentence shall direct that he be hanged by the neck till he is dead."
The execution is carried out in accordance with the section and Jail Manuals of the respective states. An attempt to challenge this method of execution failed in the Supreme Court, which stated in its 1983 judgement that hanging did not involve torture, barbarity, humiliation or degradation.
Shooting-
The Army Act and Air Force Act also provide for the execution of the death sentence. Section 34 of the Air Force Act, 1950 empowers the court martial to impose the death sentence for the offences mentioned in section 34 of The Air Force Act, 1950. Section 163 of the Act provides for the form of the sentence of death as:-
"In awarding a sentence of death, a court-martial shall, in its discretion, direct that the offender shall suffer death by being hanged by the neck until he be dead or shall suffer death by being shot to death”.
This provides for the discretion of the Court Martial to either provide for the execution of the death sentence by hanging or by being shot to death. The Army Act, 1950, and the Navy Act, 1957 also provide for the similar provisions as in The Air Force Act, 1950.
Current methods of punishment-
Decapitation, Electrocution, Firing squad, Gas chamber, Hanging Lethal ,injection, Stoning
Past methods of punishment-
Blowing from a gun, Boiling, Breaking wheel, Burning,Crucifixion,Crushing.quartering Elephant Flaying,Premature burial ,Slow slicing ,Suffocation in ash.

True life imprisonment is a more effective deterrent than capital punishment. To most inmates, the thought of living a whole lifetime behind bars only to die in a cell, is worse than the quick, final termination of the electric chair or lethal injection.

BHAGWAN SE SIDHI BAAT

Ganesh utsav ki dhoom Indore: Indore kshetr ke chintaaman ganesh mandir mein ghante-ghadiyaal kam aur mobile phone ki ghantiyaan jyaada baj rahi hain. Aastha ki anokhi tarangon se prerit ye call khud chintaaman ganesh ke liye aa rahe hain, jinke navaachaari bhakton ne bhaagaadaudi ke is daur mein Bhagwan tak apne dil ki baat pahunchaane ke liye mobile phone ka aasaan jariya khoj liya hai. Das divseeya ganeshotsav ke dauraan chintaaman ganesh ka number milna khaasa mushkil hai, kyonki duniyaabhar mein faile bhakt unhein phone karke muraadein maang rahe hain. Bhakton ke Bhagwan ko phone karne ki pratha par tarkavaadi beshak savaal utha sakte hain. Lekin bhaav-bhakti ke is ajab-gajab samvaad ke taar aastha ki dilchasp kahaaniyon se jude hain. Mandir ke pujaari ashok paathak ne bataaya, vaise chintaaman ganesh ko unke bhakt kareeb chaar dashak se chitthiyaan likh rahe hain. Magar sanchaar ke high-tech yug mein varsh 2005 se bhakton ne Bhagwan tak apni muraadein pahunchaane ke liye mobile phone ka sahaara lena shuroo kar diya. Unhonne bataaya ki jab bhi koi vyakti mobile phone par chintaaman ganesh se 'Baat karne ki' ichha jataata hai, vah phone ko seedhe Bhagwan ki moorti ke paas le jaate hain aur un tak bhakt ka sandesh pahuncha dete hain. Paathak bataate hain ki koi 1,200 saal puraane paramaarakaaleen mandir mein viraaje chintaaman ganesh ko phone karne ki anoothi parampara tab shuroo hui, jab Indore se taalluk rakhane vaala ek bhakt Germany mein bas gaya. Yeh bhakt hajaaron meal ke faasale se Bhagwan ko niyamit taur par chitthiyaan likha karta tha. Ek baar usane mandir ke pujaari ko phone kiya. Usane kaha ki ab vah phone ke jariye ganesh tak apna sandesh pahunchaana chaahata hai. Bhakt ki bhaavanaaon ka maan rakhate hue usaki ichha poori ki gayi. Iske baad se aastha ka Yeh ajab-gajab silsila chal pada, jo aaj tak jaari hai. Mandir ke pujaari ne bataaya, aam taur par chintaaman ganesh ko har maheene ausatan 150 bhakt phone karte hain, lekin ganeshotsav mein aapko Bhagwan ka mobile number lagaataar vyast milega. Is dauraan unhein duniyaabhar se kareeb 200 bhakt har roj phone karte hain. Paathak ke mutaabik, ganesh ke bhakt unase kisi antarang mitr ki tarah lambi baat karte hain aur Bhagwan ke saamane apna dil kholkar rakh dete hain.
